Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Hold or ability to obtain a valid Texas educational aide certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the daily program under the direction of the teacher.
• Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up centers and preparing materials.
• Assist with keeping students on task, answering questions, and monitoring progress.
• Supervise the classroom when the teacher is out of the room.
• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
• Help with general housekeeping tasks.
• Assist the teacher in other appropriate ways.
• Maintain professional attitudes and loyalty to the school.
• Treat all students with dignity and respect.
• Attend staff meetings and training programs.
• Participate in professional workshops.
• Maintain confidentiality about students and families.
• Supervise students during lunch and as assigned.
• Help with audio/visual operations (projectors).
• Follow directions given by head teacher or supervisor
