Job summary

West Contra Costa Unified School District in Richmond, CA seeks an elementary teacher to deliver instruction in reading, language arts, math, social science, science, health, art, physical education and music under the classroom plan.

The teacher will develop materials, provide individual and group instruction, assess student progress, maintain records, communicate with families, and collaborate with staff to support student growth while upholding district policies and nondiscrimination

Qualifications

Submit EdJoin application, letter of interest, resume, credential copy (Clear/Preliminary/Intern) for Multiple Subject, EL authorization (CLAD) and BA transcripts.
Include CSET results and 2–3 letters of recommendation.

Responsibilities

Teach students in reading, language arts, mathematics, social science, general science, health, art, physical education and music.
Develop instructional materials and provide individualized and group instruction to adapt the curriculum to each pupil.
Maintain procedures for classroom control and a suitable learning environment; evaluate student growth and communicate with parents.
Administer group standardized tests and participate in curriculum programs; may coordinate work of aides and paraprofessionals.
Maintain attendance records and professional competence through growth activities.
