Responsibilities

Teach district-approved curriculum.
Plan a program of study and develop lesson plans and instructional material that are developmentally appropriate and meet students' needs.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media.
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of behavior and use classroom management techniques.
Evaluate students' academic and social growth; seek district specialist input as needed.
Communicate with students, parents, counselors and administrators regarding student issues.
Cooperate and collaborate with other staff members.
Participate in IEP development and implementation.
Follow district policy and maintain confidentiality.
