• Maintains a safe and supervised classroom environment conducive to learning and maintains discipline.
• Prepares a teaching outline for the course of study in accordance with curricula guidelines.
• Uses a variety of teaching strategies and materials.
• Assigns lessons and corrects papers.
• Prepares, administers, and corrects tests and records results.
• Administers diagnostic tests.
• Evaluates student progress and reports to parents.
• Keeps attendance and grade records as required by the board of education.
• Observes students to detect health or emotional issues and reports as appropriate.
• Fosters cooperative social behavior.
• Discusses students' academic and behavior problems with parents and suggests corrective actions.
• Reports to the principal any suspected harm to a student’s health or welfare.
• Attends work regularly and on-time.
• Meets assigned classes in locations and times designated.
• Participates in faculty and professional meetings and trainings.
• Represents the school and community in a positive manner.
