Job summary

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant to support students in the STRIVE Program at Pashley Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.

The STRIVE Teaching Assistants will work in a self-contained special education classroom, under the classroom teacher and related service providers, helping students access instruction, build independence, and achieve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Experience with elementary-aged students is preferred.
• Certification as a New York State Teaching Assistant or eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
• Assist in implementing IEPs, behavior intervention plans, and classroom accommodations.
• Provide instructional support to individual students and small groups under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Assist students with transitions, daily routines, organization, and classroom participation.
• Foster student independence, self-regulation, and engagement in learning activities.
• Collaborate closely with special education teachers, related service providers, and building staff to support student success.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.]
