Job summary

Kearney Public Schools seeks SPED paraeducators for elementary settings. Multiple positions available with part-time options. Schedule follows the school calendar, 175 days per year.

Starting date is immediate; benefits information available through Human Resources. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, strong organizational and supervision skills, excellent communication, and CPR certification. Experience with students who have disabilities is desired.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent organizational and student supervision skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability and desire to work with students with disabilities.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in daily living activities and academic areas (math, reading, language, writing, spelling, social studies, art, music, PE).
• Supervise breaks, lunchroom, field trips, and community access activities as directed by teachers.
• Support teachers with IEP-related reports and classroom materials.
• Prepare written communications (notes home, staff messages, meetings notices).
• Maintain student information forms and reproduce curriculum materials as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by Principal or Director of Special Education.
