Job summary

The Sigourney Community School District is hiring a full-time Elementary teacher for a 50% Special Education and 50% Title 1 Reading split for the 2026-2027 school year.

We seek a motivated, student-focused leader with a strong teaching background for our PK-6 program. Candidates must differentiate instruction, manage classrooms effectively, and engage families in the learning process.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in the State of Iowa or able to obtain licensure by start date.
• Endorsements required: K-8 Instructional Strategist I: Mild/Moderate; K-12 Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD; K-8 Reading.
• Position is 50% Special Education and 50% Title 1 Reading for the 2026-2027 year.

Responsibilities

• Teach elementary PK-6 with a split 50/50 assignment.
• Differentiate instruction and assessments to meet all learners' needs.

Job Description

The Sigourney Community School District is seeking a full time Elementary teacher for 50% Special Education and 50% Title 1 Reading for the 2026-2027 school year.

We are seeking a motivated, passionate, and student focused leader with a strong teaching background for our elementary PK-6 education program.

Must demonstrate effective classroom management skills through building positive and strong relationships with students and families. The candidate must be able to differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the needs of all learners.

Salary is based on experience and education. Competitive Benefit Package Includes: Full Single Health and Dental Plan, other benefit and supplemental plans are available as well.
