• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet special needs.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through the ARD process for each assigned student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs for assigned students, providing written evidence of preparation as required.
• Assess student learning styles and plan instruction using appropriate materials and activities.
• Present subject matter in accordance with IEP guidelines.
• Work with teachers to modify regular curricula and assist students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings.
• Assist in selecting books, equipment, and instructional media.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
• Provide or supervise personal and medical care as outlined in the IEP.
• Support extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor approved activities.
• Consult with district and external resources regarding student needs.
