Job summary

Oak Park Elementary School District 97 is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse needs in an elementary setting. You will adapt the general curriculum, develop IEP-based plans, monitor progress, and collaborate with families, administrators and educators to promote equity and student success.

The position requires a valid Illinois Professional Educators License with LBS1, experience with low-incidence disabilities, and commitment to evidence-based practices,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; one to two years related experience and/or training preferred.
• Illinois Professional Educators License with LBS1 endorsement.
• Certified de-escalation and restraint training expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement instruction and IEP goals for students with disabilities.
• Assess and monitor student progress using data and district/state assessments.
• Collaborate with parents, administrators, general education teachers, related service providers, and staff.
• Maintain thorough records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to district equity initiatives.
