Job summary

Clarke Community School District is seeking an Elementary School Special Education Associate for Clarke Community Elementary School in Osceola, Iowa. Coaching opportunities are also available. POSITION GOAL: provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment so students can access the instructional program and materials.

SUPERVISES: Student(s). Responsibilities include implementing IEPs, behavior plans, and supporting students with disabilities alongside the teacher.

Qualifications

POSITION GOAL: To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment for students to access instructional resources.

Responsibilities

Take directions from teachers and administrators.
Follow behavior management plans for individual students.
Assist in implementing and monitoring Individual Education Plans.
Assist in implementing consistent behavior management strategies.
Perform personal care duties for students with disabilities as needed.
Operate and care for classroom instructional equipment.
Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards regarding student information.
Collaborate with others to support student learning.
Attend to duties assigned by the supervising teacher and principal.
Help students organize for independent study and assist those needing extra help.
Support classroom activities when the teacher is with another group.
Demonstrate effective communication with students, parents, staff, and administration.
