Job summary

Clinton Central School Corporation is seeking an Elementary Special Education Instructional Assistant to support instructional staff at Clinton Central Elementary School. You will collaborate with teachers to plan curriculum, observe student progress, and assist in implementing behavior plans.

The role emphasizes advocacy for individual learners, providing targeted interventions, and data collection to track student outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Associates Degree or Para-Pro certification (We can help with certification).
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of students, staff and administration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff to plan curriculum and share student observations.
• Follow the schedule and routines already in place to the best of your ability.
• Encourage maintenance of predetermined classroom schedules and behavior plans.
• Get to know each learner and advocate for their success.
• Provide intervention and data collection as needed.
• Cover student arrival and dismissal as assigned.
• Attend field trips, lunch, and before/after school duty as required.
• Manage student behavior using approved disciplinary procedures.
• Must obtain and maintain substitute license.
• Must have a current background check on file.
• Be willing to learn various curriculum and resources available.
• Lead small group interventions with direction.
• Maintain a growth mindset and willingness to learn and grow education-wise.
