Job summary

Washougal School District in Washougal, WA is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher - Resource Room at Gause Elementary School for the 2025-26 school year. This one-year leave replacement begins immediately and requires a valid WA teaching certificate with K-12 Special Education endorsement.

Salary ranges from $66,137 to $124,653 per year, based on the 2025-26 salary schedule and placement by experience.

Qualifications

Must qualify for a valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements as required by law.
Prior special education experience is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in job related area.

Responsibilities

Teach to district approved course goals and objectives.
Select teaching strategies for implementing IEP goals and objectives for assigned students with developmental disabilities.
Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to the students changing needs.
Coordinate specialized instruction with general education curriculum as appropriate.
Establish classroom behavior management programs and use a behavioral accountability system with the team coordinator.
Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified by state law and district regulations.
Train, supervise, and teach staff assistants and volunteers.
Provide individual and group instruction so that each student can achieve scholastic objectives.
Communicate with parents; hold parent conferences to discuss individual progress.
Maintain records and submit reports as required.
