Job summary

Queens Hebrew Academy in New York is seeking a passionate Science Teacher to join our collaborative academic team for the upcoming school year.

Responsibilities include delivering standards-aligned science lessons with inquiry-based learning, fostering a safe and inclusive classroom, and using assessments to guide instruction. Collaboration with the STEM department and clear communication with families are expected.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Science discipline, STEM field, or Science Education (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Certification: State Certification (or eligibility for New York State certification reciprocity / transitional paths) in Science or Elementary Education.
  • Experience: Prior student teaching or full-time secondary science classroom experience is strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong digital literacy (familiarity with platforms like Google Classroom or similar LMS tools), excellent organizational skills, and a dedication to urban/diverse student achievement.

  • Community & Communication: Maintain positive lines of communication with students, parents, and administration regarding academic progress and lab safety.
