Job summary

Parkway School District seeks an Elementary School Teacher Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports full-time teachers, reinforces lessons, and handles classroom and clerical duties under supervision of a certified teacher.

The position offers two pay levels: $17.38/hr with 36 college credits or substitute training, or $18.38/hr with a 4-year degree. This is a one-year, full-time assignment.

Qualifications

Official transcripts required for college credits.
DESE Substitute Certification required.
HS diploma or equivalent (translated if applicable).

Responsibilities

Performs supportive instructional tasks under supervision.
Supervise classrooms in emergencies.
Monitors students during independent work and provides assistance.
Provides tutorial assistance to students one-to-one or in small groups.
Provides practice and reinforcement activities following instruction.
Assists in preparation of instructional materials.
Supports behavior management under staff direction.
Helps implement the classroom behavior management system.
Provides emotional support and encouragement to students.
Assists in supervising students throughout the school day (bus, lunch, recess, etc.).
Assists certified staff with clerical duties.
