Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors in Massachusetts seeks energetic, student-centered tutors to deliver in-home academic support aligned with state standards. You will provide assignments and remedial or enrichment sessions, and tailor approaches to each learner's needs.

Ideal applicants hold a bachelor’s degree and meet one of: MA teaching certificate, student-teaching, two years of private or charter school teaching, university lecturer or teaching assistant, or current Master's/PhD student with TA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and Massachusetts teaching certificate or the equivalent.
• Or pursuing a teaching certificate as a student teacher.
• Two or more years of experience as a private or charter school classroom teacher.
• Experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. University or College.
• Masters/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. University or College.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to students based on expertise and knowledge of the state curriculum.
• Provide supplemental assignments to students to help promote a greater understanding of the material.

Requirements

A qualified applicant will have a bachelor's degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria:

• You hold a valid Massachusetts State teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof
• You are a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate
• You have two or more years of experience as a private or charter school classroom teacher.
• You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. University or College
