Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking a school Librarian for the 2026-2027 year. The library program will support instructional literacy, information literacy, and digital learning across the curriculum.

You will manage print and digital collections, collaborate with teachers, supervise library staff, and lead literacy initiatives while ensuring budget adherence and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to develop instructional goals for students.
• Ability to manage print, non-print and electronic collections.
• Ability to prepare and monitor departmental budget.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate with other instructional personnel.

Responsibilities

• Teach information literacy and research skills to students and staff.
• Maintain and circulate library collections and equipment.
• Collaborate with teachers to support digital learning and information literacy.
• Plan and direct literacy initiatives and reading programs.
• Prepare and monitor the school library budget and related reports.
• Supervise Library Assistants and coordinate volunteers.
