Job summary

Natick Public Schools seeks a Part Time Long Term Sub Counselor for the Elementary level at Brown Elementary. The position runs 10/30/26 through 6/11/27 with immediate starting date and a DESE-certified School Counselor 5-12 or related licensure preferred.

Responsibilities include direct student counseling, addressing social-emotional needs and collaborating with staff to support all students, including ELL learners. The district emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion across programs.

Qualifications

• MA Degree in School Counseling or Adjustment Counselor/Social Worker.
• Thorough understanding of child development.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice in education.
• DESE Certification and Licensure as School Counselor 5-12 or School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct counseling services to students individually and in groups.
• Support personal, social-emotional and mental health needs of students.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators and families to support student success.
• Support ELL students and coordinate with ELL department to address language needs.
• Act as liaison with outside agencies and services as needed.
• Attend meetings and participate in the School Crisis Team as required.
