Job summary

Seattle-Hebrew-Academy is seeking an elementary teacher with a current Washington State teaching certificate to foster a dynamic learning environment and support inquiry-based learning. The role emphasizes organized lesson planning that promotes questioning, discovery, application, and creative problem-solving.

You will differentiate instruction, assess progress toward standards, and collaborate with colleagues while engaging families.

Qualifications

• Hold a current Washington State teaching certificate.
• Strong knowledge of elementary content areas and state learning requirements.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience.
• Ability to assess student learning and set goals based on assessment outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop a learning environment conducive to learning and student growth.
• Create organized lesson plans that promote inquiry and problem-solving.
• Continually assess student achievement and communicate progress to students and parents.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs and provide accommodations/modifications.
• Deliver innovative and personalized instruction to maximize learning.
• Collaborate with partner teachers.
• Participate in department, school and parent meetings.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students and colleagues.
• Engage in school-wide professional development and seek feedback.
• Work efficiently with Microsoft Windows using Office, Google Suite, and learn new technology.
