Job summary

Champaign Unit 4 Schools is seeking an Elementary Teaching and Learning Coordinator to lead curriculum coordination and support district teaching strategies at the Administrative Center in Champaign. Immediate start is available for a dedicated educator with licensure and leadership potential.

The ideal candidate will hold an Illinois Professional Educator License, with a strong background in culturally responsive pedagogy and elementary/middle school programming, plus exceptional communication

Qualifications

  • Illinois Professional Educator License with general education endorsement.
  • Strong knowledge of culturally responsive education and pedagogy.
  • Strong knowledge of both Elementary and Middle School programming.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and its application to practice.
  • Minimum of five (5) years successful classroom teaching experience (preferred).
  • Master's Degree or National Board Certification (preferred).
  • Leadership experience (preferred).

Compensation
  • The salary for this position is determined based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Federation of Teachers, which includes a different level of compensation for positions designated as "hard to fill."The full salary schedule and the Hard to Fill positions list are available on our website.The District currently gives experienced teachers unlimited experience credit for service outside the District.New teachers may request up to $2,000 as a salary advance to help with relocation expenses or other needs. 100% of a teacher's contributions to TRS are currently paid by the Board of Education.The Board currently pays 100% of a teacher's employee-only health, dental, and term life insurance.There is a minimal employee cost for vision insurance.There are many opportunities for teachers to earn substantial additional compensation (stipends, differentials, extra duty pay, etc.) during the regular school year and in the summer.
  • The District offers an additional $1,500 annual stipend for Teachers who hold a national board certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
  • Individuals hired into a 1.0 FTE position in the CFT bargaining unit after October 1, 2023 are eligible for a $1,500 Sign-On Bonus.Details can be found on the Human Resources page of our website.

  • This position will remain posted until the hiring process is complete; however, interviews may be conducted any time after July 27, 2026, so interested applicants should submit their materials ASAP to ensure consideration.
  • The work calendar for this position is 205 days per year. (The additional days beyond the 185 days worked by other bargaining unit members are paid at the applicable daily rate.)
