Job summary

Amherst Public School District (Amethyst Brook Elementary) seeks full-time paraeducators for an Elementary Intensive Needs Program serving students with multiple disabilities, including autism and cognitive impairments.

You will provide direct support and instruction under the supervision of a special education teacher, assisting with language, social skills, self-regulation, daily living activities, and sensory processing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and instruction to students under the direction of a special education teacher
• Support students in language, social skills, self-regulation, daily living activities, and sensory processing
• May attend related services sessions to facilitate carryover of skills between settings
• May have toileting responsibilities with a $0.50 per hour differential
• Effectively de-escalate and redirect students, and apply physical supports only when absolutely necessary
