Job summary

GradePower Learning Cary is seeking a part-time Teacher-Tutor to support after-school and evening sessions for 3 students at a time.

You will work in-person at our Cary learning center, with pre-planned lessons and training in our methods. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or related certification, strong English communication, and reliability. Teaching experience with grades 1–8 is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth year students with tutoring experience considered.

• Knowledge of 1st–8th grade curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 3 students at a time.

Part-Time Elementary & Middle School Reading Teacher Needed!

Passionate about puns? Excited by literature? Eager to help elementary students succeed in all subjects?

We are currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning center at GradePower Learning Cary. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, math, among other subjects, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements:

All Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning work during after-school and evening hours Mon - Thur (3:00pm - 7:00pm) as well as Saturday mornings (9:00am - 12:30pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the currentfirst grade to 8th grade curriculum

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at afirst grade to 8th grade(or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details):

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching online and in-person
• Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
