Job summary

King’s Schools is seeking a Lunchroom Supervisor to oversee elementary students during lunch periods in Shoreline, WA. This part-time role ensures a safe, orderly lunch environment, enforces lunchroom rules, and helps reset the space between groups.

Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, coordinating with teachers and staff, and assisting with arrival/dismissal procedures. A Food Handler’s Card and prior experience with children are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise elementary students during lunch periods.
• Ensure lunch periods begin and end on schedule.
• Communicate and reinforce lunchroom behavior expectations.
• Keep students seated unless permitted to move.
• Maintain appropriate noise levels.
• Ensure students ask before leaving seats for drinks or bathroom.
• Monitor behavior and provide reminders or redirection.
• Ensure eating areas are cleaned and trash disposed of properly.
• Prepare and reset lunchroom between groups for next session.
• Assist with arrival and dismissal procedures.
• Report significant student safety or operational concerns to appropriate staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, cafeteria staff, and administrators to support lunch operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrators.

The Lunchroom Supervisor provides consistent oversight of elementary students during lunch periods and helps create a safe, welcoming, and orderly environment. This position ensures that the lunch schedule runs smoothly, reinforces established lunchroom expectations, and prepares the space for each group of students.

++ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS++

DUTIES:

• Supervise elementary students while they are eating lunch.
• Ensure that lunch periods begin and end according to the established schedule.
• Clearly communicate and consistently reinforce lunchroom behavior expectations.
• Ensure students remain seated while eating unless they have received permission to get up.
• Help students maintain an appropriate voice level.
• Require students to ask permission before leaving their seats to use the restroom or get a drink.
• Monitor student behavior and respond appropriately when students need reminders or redirection.
• Ensure students clean their eating areas and properly dispose of trash.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly lunchroom environment.
• Prepare and reset the lunchroom between groups so the space is ready for the next group of students.
• Support orderly arrival and dismissal procedures.
• Communicate significant student behavior, safety, or operational concerns to the appropriate school personnel.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, instructional aides, food-service staff, and administrators to support effective lunchroom operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
