Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to work well with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Teacher Assistant Certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as an assistant to the school Principal in the general supervision of the lunch program.
• Supervise children in the lunchroom, assisting custodian with wiping down tables after each class.
• Supervise students in the school yard, or in the classroom for recess on inclement weather no more than 20 minutes.
• Perform clerical tasks assigned by the Principal and or their designee that are not exclusively the domain of the administrative assistant.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all students.
• During recess/lunch duty remain with assigned class and use a walkie-talkie to notify the office in case of emergency.
• Perform all other tasks assigned by the principal that support the learning environment.
