Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a Lunch Hour Aide for Burning Tree Elementary School in Bethesda, MD. This 2-hour TPT position supports student supervision during lunch and playground activities under general supervision.

Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, assisting teachers during brief absences, and performing light clerical tasks. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and possess patience and good communication with students and staff.

Qualifications

• High School or GED diploma required.
• Experience working with children of elementary school age.
• Certificate License: First aid and CPR certificate desirable.
• Knowledge of applicable school regulations and child development helpful.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, monitors student activities and behavior on the playground and during student lunch periods.
• Monitors class during testing or brief absence of teacher; may assist teachers in classroom activities, and perform general clerical tasks.
• Ability to patrol for extended periods of time and during all types of weather.
• Enforces safety rules and playground/cafeteria procedures.
