Job summary

Lexington County School District One invites applications for an Instructional Assistant, Elementary. Under general supervision, the paraprofessional supports teachers by reinforcing lessons with individual students and small groups, and assists with classroom activities in alignment with the district's goals.

Qualifications

Must meet one of the following prior to hire: 60 college credit hours, an associate degree or higher, or a passing ParaPro or ParaPathways Assessment.
High school graduate or equivalent is required.
Passing the ParaPro or ParaPathways Assessment is a valid qualification option.
An associate degree or higher is acceptable for qualification.

Responsibilities

Prepares for and works with individual students and small groups to reinforce materials introduced by the teacher.
Assists teachers with classroom activities and reports to the assigned supervisor.
Supports students and maintains confidentiality of information.
Engages in fostering a safe, positive classroom environment and supports daily instructional tasks.
