Job summary

Ricardo ISD is seeking an Elementary Classroom Aide to provide instructional support under a certified teacher. You will assist with preparing materials, supervise students, and help maintain an organized classroom environment.

The role involves working with individual students or small groups, assisting with testing, and helping substitute teachers as needed. Prior experience with children is preferred and ESSA guidelines may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or two years of college coursework.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duties.
• Inform teacher of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development training and faculty meetings.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
