Qualifications

• Ability to develop and maintain required records and written reports.
• Possess high moral standards and integrity.
• Ability to use computer software programs and web-based applications.
• Ability to circulate around classrooms with varied seating and desk organization patterns.
• Ability to travel to more than one work location in the course of the day if itinerant position.
• Ability to prepare required written reports.
• Ability to monitor and ensure appropriate student behavior, including outdoor activity areas, gymnasiums, etc.

Responsibilities

• Teach students with disabilities and develop individualized lesson plans.
• Collaborate with school staff and parents to develop IEPs and monitor progress.
• Deliver instruction to adapt the curriculum for individual needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
• Serve on multidisciplinary teams and committees as needed.
• Adapt and modify curricula and instruction per student plans.
• Conduct assessments and maintain progress records according to guidelines.
• Manage learning time to maximize student achievement.
• Coordinate with general education teachers for specially designed instruction.
• Support data collection for IEPs and goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by building administrator.
