Job summary

Roosevelt ISD is seeking an elementary counselor to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance program at the assigned campus. The counselor will support students’ academic, career, personal, and social development and address the needs of special populations.

• Master’s degree in counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas school counselor certificate.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program.
• Guide individual students, groups of students, and parents to plan and monitor educational and career development.
• Use counseling theories and techniques to support personal and social development, including crisis counseling as needed.
• Serve as an impartial resource for interpersonal conflicts and bullying-related issues.
• Coordinate resources and refer students to special programs and services as needed.
• Interpret standardized test results and assessment data to guide goal setting and planning.
