Job summary

Seattle Hebrew Academy seeks an experienced Lower School educator dedicated to growth and collaboration. You will plan engaging lessons, differentiate instruction, and communicate with families in a supportive professional learning community.

The ideal candidate holds a Washington State teaching certificate, demonstrates strong elementary knowledge, and embraces mentoring, teamwork, and ongoing professional growth within a Modern Orthodox Jewish day school environment.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State teaching certificate.
• Strong knowledge of elementary content areas and state requirements.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Minimum of two years successful teaching experience.
• Knowledge and ability to assess student learning and set individual learning goals.
• Willingness to work closely with colleagues in a mentoring relationship.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages student learning.
• Experience or interest in Project Based Learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop a learning environment conducive to learning and inspires student growth.
• Create organized lesson plans where students engage in inquiry and problem solving.
• Continuously assess student achievement and communicate progress to families.
• Differentiate instruction and provide accommodations for all learners.
• Deliver innovative and personalized instruction to maximize student learning.
• Collaborate with partner teachers.
• Participate in department, school and parent meetings.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students and colleagues.
• Engage in school-wide professional development and stay flexible and positive.
• Operate using Microsoft Windows, Office, and Google Suite; learn new technology.
