Job summary

Mancos School District Region 6 in Colorado is seeking an Elementary ESS Para to support students with documented learning challenges, primarily in 1:1 or small group settings. Starting date is immediate; position is full-time, on site at Mancos Elementary School. The role involves implementing IEPs, monitoring progress, and providing interventions under the guidance

Qualifications

• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
• Provide interventions for specific students as directed by the licensed special education teacher.
• Assist students in establishing daily routines and monitor classroom activities.
• Collaborate with the special education teacher and support staff.
• Support instructional programs in small and large group settings.
• Meet timelines for professional practices such as IEPs, ICAPs and RtI.
• Attend trainings as recommended by the Special Education teacher or Principal.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Job Description

The ESS paraprofessional assists the ESS teacher to provide extra support to students with documented learning challenges as identified through their Individual Education Plan (IEP). ESS paraprofessionals work closely with the ESS teacher, students, and the staff to promote maximum academic and personal growth, primarily with 1:1 and/ or small group support.

Job Requirements

• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for the students and monitor and chart their progress. This includes but is not limited to small group/individual support in academics, behavioral, and life skills.
  
• Provide interventions for specific students as directed by the licensed school special education teacher.
  
• Assist students in establishing and performing daily routines.
  Supervise and facilitate students in the classroom and a variety of settings that may include the lunchroom, playground, to/from buses, crosswalks, and on field trips.
  
• Collaborate with the special education teacher.
  
• Support instructional programs and provide instructional assistance for students in individual, small, and large group settings.
  
• Meet all legal requirements, including timelines for professional practices such as, but not limited to IEPs, ICAPs, RtI.
  
• Attend training opportunities as recommended by the Special Education teacher or Principal.
