Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education from a four-year college or university.
  • Valid Missouri State Certification in grade level or content area assigned.
  • Valid Missouri State Certification in ESL (K-12) or willingness to obtain ESL Endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Teach content subject aligned to state and national standards.
  • Identify and screen possible English Learners and collaborate with staff.
  • Administer tests to evaluate progress and report results to stakeholders.
  • Maintain grades, attendance, lesson plans, and student records in SIS.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment and communicate in students’ native language when possible.
  • Participate in meetings and develop ESOL instructional support for paraprofessionals.
