Job summary

Arrow Academy in Houston, TX seeks an Elementary ESL Teacher to provide instructional services, develop lesson plans, and monitor student progress. The role requires Texas teaching certification and ESL qualifications, with the ability to plan, deliver lessons and assess student performance.

The position reports to the Director/Principal and involves classroom duties, student supervision, and collaboration with staff. This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Houston.

Qualifications

• Education: Hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university.
• Certification: Hold or eligible for a Texas Teaching Certificate appropriate to assignment; ESL certification as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver lessons, and assess student performance.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: screen students with state mandated reading assessments; assist in administration of state/national assessments; assess student performance in core academic areas.
• Planning: provide daily lesson plans for all instructional days; prepare lesson plans for substitute teachers; collaborate with grade level and school-wide planning committees.
• Instructional delivery: deliver daily instruction; provide engaging activities; perform duties in area of expertise; screen materials for appropriateness for use with students.
• Student discipline: maintain classroom discipline; provide redirection and alternatives; participate in Capturing Kids’ Hearts training.
• Conferencing: meet with parents and administrators; collaborate with staff; participate in staff development; prepare clear communications.
• Management: maintain attendance and performance records; order supplies; supervise field trips and events.
