Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools is seeking a Certified Classroom Teacher for 4th Grade ELA for the 2026-2027 school year in Kansas City, Missouri. The role reports to the Building Principal and requires a Missouri teaching certificate and a strong foundation in curriculum design and inclusive instruction.

You will deliver standards-aligned lessons, assess student progress, manage a positive classroom, and collaborate with coaches and families to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Missouri teaching certificate or eligibility for certification.
• Strong understanding of curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom management.
• Experience with or commitment to working in diverse, urban school environments.

Responsibilities

• Instructional delivery: develop and deliver lesson plans meeting standards; use varied strategies and tech tools; adjust based on student progress.
• Student assessment and progress monitoring: regularly assess, analyze performance; maintain records; use data to tailor interventions.
• Classroom management and student engagement: establish an inclusive culture; ensure safety and well-being; minimize disruptions; support social-emotional development.
• Professional development and school collaboration: participate in PD; contribute to school initiatives; attend meetings and community events; serve on committees.
