Job summary

Portland Public Schools seeks an Educational Technician III to support Kindergarten or 1st Grade at Longfellow Elementary. Under the Principal, assist the Classroom Teacher in promoting student learning and well being through small group math work and instructional reinforcement.

Applicants should have Maine ED Tech III credentials or a related certification, with preference for candidates with education-related coursework and prior experience with structured student activities.

Qualifications

• Approval as Educational Technician III by the Maine DOE or valid Maine provisional/professional certification.
• Preference for a degree with education-related coursework and at least one year of structured student work.
• Demonstrated ability to support Kindergarten or 1st Grade students.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher to support student learning and well being.
• Work with students in math, individually and in small groups.
• Reinforce instruction, motivate learning, and support classroom management.
• Perform clerical and other non-instructional tasks as needed.
