Job summary

Knox City-O'Brien CISD is seeking a dedicated Maintenance/Custodian to keep school facilities clean, safe, and well-maintained, supporting students and staff. Start date ASAP; reports to Superintendent and Maintenance Supervisor; this is a full-time role with stable hours.

Responsibilities include groundskeeping, preventative maintenance, event setup, and daily cleaning. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, willingness to obtain CDL, ability to lift 50 lbs, and background checks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Willing to obtain CDL Bus Driving License.
• Experience in custodial and general maintenance work is strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work indoors and outdoors.
• Reliable, honest, and hardworking with a positive attitude.
• Must pass background check and fingerprinting as required by Texas law.

Responsibilities

• Assist with groundskeeping, including mowing, trimming, and landscaping.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely manner.
• Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and maintained properly.
• Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and other school facilities.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize daily.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for school events.
• Report safety hazards and maintenance needs.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Maintenance/Custodian.
