Job summary

Pinewood Elementary in Warren, Michigan, is seeking an Elementary Lunch Supervisor to help maintain a safe, orderly cafeteria and supervise students during meals. This part-time role pays $15 per hour and runs two hours per day in alignment with the school calendar.

Qualifications

• Holds a high school diploma.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with students.
• Ability to work successfully with students.
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties.
• Successful completion of required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.
• Board may accept other appropriate alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in the cafeteria during meals.
• Maintains orderly food purchase, disposal of food waste, and return of trays and utensils.
• Sees that students are seated in assigned areas during meals.
• Circulates among tables to assist students or resolve minor issues.
• Ensures cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas.
• Communicates concerns to classroom teachers.
• Notifies principal of serious infractions of discipline rules.
• Notifies principal immediately in event of a breech of security procedures.
• Brings medical problems/injuries to the nurse or principal's attention.
• Stays alert to students and their needs.
• Organizes groups for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria.
• Supervises in designated classrooms during inclement weather.
• Follows all district policies, rules and procedures.
