Job Description

• Prepares and teaches lessons as assigned.
• Organizes existing materials and makes new materials to be used in helping students meet the learning objectives.
• Evaluates, assesses and assigns grades to student work as appropriate.
• Maintains a positive atmosphere for learning within the classroom.
• Performs certain non-instructional classroom duties such as supervising snack, restroom, clothing routines, play periods, lunch periods, assemblies and field trips.
• Participates in in-service training programs.
• Checks and records student attendance.
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and fellow employees as is expected of teachers.
• Maintains a sense of responsibility and positive attitude toward students and fellow employees.
• Works collaboratively with other instructional personnel.
• Maintains classroom student records and folders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
