Job summary

ARP ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Cheyenne, Wyoming seeks an enthusiastic Elementary Assistant Volleyball Coach to support our athletics program under LCSD#1 guidelines. You will help supervise practices, promote sportsmanship, and assist the head coach with implementing the district curriculum during practices.

This position requires a high school diploma and willingness to engage students, communicate with families, and maintain safety.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous coaching or participation experience in the sport preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising practice sessions to develop sport skills and sportsmanship; ensure student safety.

Salary Schedule: Differential Pay $532.50 per sport

SUMMARY: Serve as an assistant coach of an elementary athletic sport following Laramie County School District #1 guidelines; provide supervision of student athletes during their participation in the program; use sound instructional techniques; and serve as a positive role model to student athletes.

Job Tasks Descriptions

• Assist with the supervision of practice sessions to develop sport skills and sportsmanship with student athletes in the sport. Always ensure student safety and make sure student athletes are equipped for safety.
• Attend and assist with monitoring all practices and events.
• Assist with communicating with student athletes and parents regarding practice schedules and events.
• Assist with inventory and security of equipment and supplies.
• Follow all Laramie County School District #1 guidelines.
• Assist the head coach with the implementation of the LCSD#1 elementary sport’s curriculum during practices.
• Demonstrate fairness and consistency in all decisions and judgments related to the sport participants.
• Attend work and arrive in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous coaching or participation experience in the sport preferred.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:

• Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:

• Scheduling, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate sportsmanship with all athletes, parents, and community members.
• Basic knowledge of the sport.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of sport equipment to provide proper maintenance and storage.
• Knowledge of sport equipment to ensure proper use and safety of student athletes.
• Responsible for supervising the behavior and well-being of students in the program.
