Job summary

Katy Independent School District is seeking an Assistant Principal at King Elementary in Katy, TX. Immediate start for a registered leader with a strong instructional background to guide school programs and staff.

The role requires collaboration with the Principal, supervision of programs, and leadership in discipline and climate. 208 duty days, Exempt status, and ongoing professional development are expected.

Qualifications

Master’s degree and Mid-Management Certification required.
Minimum of five years classroom teaching experience or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability as an instructional leader.
Certified teacher appraiser/T-TESS AEL certified (or able to obtain).
Proven leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Assist the Principal with program planning, supervision, and evaluation.
Maintain records and submit reports as required by policy or law.
Interact effectively with students to promote positive attitudes.
Assist staff in identifying and solving instructional problems.
Utilize district resources to maintain and improve instruction.
Facilitate staff training and inservice activities.
Implement a discipline management system for a productive campus.
Communicate school goals and TEA regulations to staff and publics.
Engage community members and agencies in a supportive role.
