Qualifications

  • Current RN licensure in applicable state required; may require refresher if license lapsed.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides non-clinical and clinical duties in practice under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor within his or her scope The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at UVA Health Northern VA Culpeper by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures. Coordinates and assists the provider to ensure quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the cardiac patient population

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience:

Cardiac experience in acute or physician practice setting preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure:

Current RN licensure in applicable state required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Additional Skills/Requirements Required:

Skills as demonstrated by the ability to operate programmers from all UVA approved vendors and knowledge of all UVA approved implantable devices including single, dual, multi-lead pacemaker; single, dual, multi-lead internal cardiac defibrillator; internal implantable loop recorders; must be able to operate, interrogate, program and re-program all listed devices based on protocols, assessment, and physician orders.

  • Medical Knowledge: Demonstrates medical skills to provide required patient care.
    • Operates various equipment including portable cardiac monitors, bedside commodes, etc.
    • Provides routine nursing care such as starting IVs, performing dressing changes, etc. for multiple patients in a timely manner.
    • Assists in critical situations including administering CPR.
    • Administers and evaluates medication therapies, performs patient transfers, and transports patients via wheelchair, hospital bed, or stretcher to other departments.

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical Demand Code:

Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment. The base compensation range for this role is $29.83 - $49.40 hourly.

Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
