Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care across the full nursing process in a fast-paced environment in Birmingham, AL. You will collaborate with physicians and the health-care team to ensure quality outcomes and compassionate care for patients and families.

The role includes administering medications, assisting during procedures, monitoring vitals and equipment, and educating patients on treatment plans and post-discharge care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Alabama
• BCLS certification required
• ACLS and/or PALS preferred but not required
• 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in acute care

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care per nursing process and physician orders
• Assess patients, document findings, and report changes to care team
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency
• Collaborate to develop and evaluate individualized care plans
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/code team as needed
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment, and post-discharge care
• Maintain infection control protocols and a safe care environment
• Monitor medical equipment and ensure proper functioning
• Document care thoroughly in the medical record
• Engage in professional development and quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure informed consent is obtained and reviewed before procedures
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies
