Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Garden Grove, CA is hiring a Technician I-Product/Test to perform production and qualification testing of electromechanical relays. You set up test equipment, document results, and ensure calibration.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, up to 2 years in electronics testing, and ability to follow procedures with attention to detail. The role supports 7:00 am–4:00 pm shifts and 6S/ESD practices.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of electrical fundamentals (voltage, current, resistance).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with standard electronic test equipment.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow written procedures and instructions.
• Ability to work independently after training.

Responsibilities

• Perform production and qualification testing of electromechanical relays according to ATP/WI and specifications.
• Set up and operate relay test equipment (DMM, scopes, HIPOT, testers).
• Document results, failures, and observations in manufacturing docs and databases.
• Identify nonconforming hardware and report to Engineering/Quality/Test Management.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment and fixtures.
• Verify calibration status of test equipment before use.
• Follow 6S, ESD and safety procedures; maintain clean workstations.
• Support continuous improvement and assist senior staff with test setup and analysis.
• Meet production schedules with high-quality workmanship.
