Job summary

Randstad USA seeks an experienced Electronics Test Technician to join our team in a hands-on role. Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in electronic testing, troubleshooting, and quality control, with strong fiber optic testing skills.

This position offers a first shift from 7 AM to 3 PM in New York area. The role involves testing fiber optic assemblies and electronic components, reading schematics, documenting results, and collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in electronic testing, troubleshooting and quality control.
• Experience in testing fiber optic assemblies, cables and connectors.
• Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot fiber optic assemblies, cables, connectors, and electronic assemblies.
• Perform optical and electrical testing using appropriate test equipment and instrumentation.
• Diagnose failures and identify root causes of fiber optic and electronic issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Perform continuity, signal, power, and functional testing of electronic assemblies.
• Perform fiber optic testing, including optical loss and related performance measurements.
• Inspect fiber optic terminations, connectors, splices, and assemblies for quality and workmanship.
• Set up and operate test fixtures, meters, optical power meters, light sources, and other laboratory/test equipment.
• Document test results, defects, troubleshooting activities, and corrective actions accurately.
• Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with developing and improving test procedures and troubleshooting processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe test environment.
• Follow established quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.
