Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking a supervisory maintenance professional to oversee electrical and electronic systems across facilities. You will direct a team of trades workers and contractors, ensuring safe, reliable operation and timely repairs.

Responsibilities include evaluating equipment, preparing cost estimates, and producing reports, while coaching staff and promoting efficient, compliant maintenance practices within the department.

This is a supervisory-level position accountable for directing and overseeing a variety of facility, grounds, specialized trade workers, and contractors in the maintenance, operations, and repair of electronic and electrical equipment and systems.

• This position installs, inspects, and maintains electronic and electrical equipment, software, components, and systems and provides technical advice and assistance on the use of electronic equipment.
• This position also prepares cost estimates, purchase requisitions, and associated reports.
• Employee supervision includes hire recommendations, training, planning and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline.
• Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.

Minimum Qualifications:

Four or more years of experience relevant/similar to the listed job functions or completion of a relevant technical training program or job certificate.

Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:

• A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
• A $0.75 per hour medium security or $1.50 maximum security differential if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
• A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing differential if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.

The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years! If you are transferring from another State of Missouri agency and are receiving state retention pay, please be advised that the Missouri Department of Corrections administers retention based upon your retention anniversary date. As a result, your retention pay upon transfer may differ from what you were receiving at your previous agency until you reach your applicable retention anniversary date.
