Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking a supervisory-level technician to direct and oversee a team of facility staff and contractors in the maintenance, operations, and repair of electronic and electrical equipment and systems across our institutions.

You will install, inspect, and maintain equipment, prepare cost estimates and purchase requisitions, and supervise performance, coaching, and discipline.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of relevant experience or completion of a relevant technical training program or job certificate.
• Knowledge of electronic and electrical equipment maintenance.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage contractors.

• Prepares cost estimates, purchase requisitions, and associated reports.

• Supervision at this level also requires knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.

The annual salary listed for this position includes the additional $1.50 per hour maximum security differential ($3,120 annually) for all full-time positions domiciled in a maximum-security institution.

Minimum Qualifications:

Four or more years of experience relevant/similar to the listed job functions or completion of a relevant technical training program or job certificate.

Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:

• A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
• A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing differential if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.

The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years! If you are transferring from another State of Missouri agency and are receiving state retention pay, please be advised that the Missouri Department of Corrections administers retention based upon your retention anniversary date. As a result, your retention pay upon transfer may differ from what you were receiving at your previous agency until you reach your applicable retention anniversary date.
