Job summary

VIAVI Solutions in Virginia is seeking an Electronics Technician to solder, assemble, test, and inspect electronic devices and components to meet stringent quality standards. You will load firmware, perform functional tests, document results, and collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve processes.

The role requires attention to ESD safety, IPC-610/IPC-620 compliance, and the ability to work on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Electronics or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics assembly.
• Experience with assembly of electronic devices, wiring harnesses, and connectors.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (610, 620) for electronic assemblies and wire harnesses.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components into sub-assemblies or complete units per drawings and work instructions.
• Follow IPC-610 and IPC-620 quality standards during assembly and soldering.
• Assemble wiring harnesses, connectors, and mechanical parts as required.
• Solder precision electro-mechanical equipment, wiring harnesses, and PCB assemblies to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards.
• Perform functional testing on assemblies and load firmware.
