Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations seeks an Electronics Technician Maintenance II to support Fort Hood, TX. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and installing electronic equipment, including radar, telecommunications, and industrial systems.

You will work under supervision, perform tests with instruments like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators, and ensure asset safety and reliability. A minimum 2–3 years of experience and a technical degree or apprenticeship are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years proven experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
• General experience as an electronics technician.
• Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
• Must receive favorable TIER 1 investigation and CAC eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, modify and install electronic equipment and related devices (radar, radio, telecom, sonar, navigational aids).
• Apply electronics principles to diagnose malfunctions, evaluate performance, and suggest circuitry changes.
• Perform routine tasks following detailed instructions using instruments (DMM, signal generators, oscilloscope).
• Work under close supervision with frequent checks for accuracy.

Akima Facilities Operations is seeking an Electronics Technician Maintenance II to work in Fort Hood, TX. To join our team of outstanding professionals.

Responsibilities

• The Electronics Technician, Maintenance maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.
• The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
• The Electronics Technician Maintenanceapplies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
• This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy.
• The physical demands while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
• The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
• Must have general experience as an electronics technician.
• Must have the ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
• Must be able to receive a favorable TIER 1 investigation and obtain/maintain a CAC.

Desired Qualification

• Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program, or the equivalence in a technical field.
• Electronic certification apprenticeship or technical degree preferred.
• Two years computer experience/operation and PLC programming preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.
• Minimum of High School / GED preferred.

Pay & Benefits

• Hourly Compensation: $26.62.
• Hourly Health & Welfare: $5.09.

This position is contingent upon contract award and funding. Applicants selected may be offered a job but cannot begin work until funding has been confirmed.
