Arcata Associates, Inc. is seeking an Electronics Technician II to support operations and maintenance of various electronic systems in Beatty, Nevada. This role involves performing preventive and remedial maintenance on complex electronic equipment and ensuring successful operations across several systems.
Qualified candidates should have an associate's degree in electronics engineering and at least 3 years of hands-on experience. The position includes a remote living allowance and requires working in remote environments with potential overnight stays.
The Electronics Technician II supports operations and maintenance of one or more of the following systems: TOSS, Ground Radar, Threat Simulators/Systems, transport networks, local area networks, Link 16, DTS, HSMT, NavAids, Ground-To-Air Radios, and other duties as required. Performs routine and complex preventive and remedial maintenance on assigned Range systems and other associated electronic equipment to the component level, and troubleshooting complex problems and providing guidance to other technicians as required. The equipment includes but is not limited to electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog circuits and computers, network equipment, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and camera/antenna positioning systems.
Desired qualifications are associate's degree in electronics engineering or equivalent work-related experience.
At least 3 years of hands‑on experience as a technician operating and maintaining digital and analog electronic equipment resulting in an in‑depth knowledge of systems theory of operation. Graduate from an accredited two‑year technical school with courses in Math, Basic Electronics, and Microwave Theory or military equivalent with emphasis on COMM or R.F. disciplines. Experience working with various network equipment manufacturers - Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, General Dynamics, Collins Aerospace.
Must be able to work in a field environment with work at remote locations. Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, towers and equipment to a minimum of 50 feet. Must have a valid driver's license, strong computer and organizational skills, ability to read and understand English, and the ability to travel as required by the company. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other team members and those contacted in the performance of required duties.
Must possess a valid Nevada driver's license. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance in accordance with the contract requirements.
Must be able to stay overnight on location at a company provided domicile for the four‑day work week.
