Job description

Join our fast‑paced and passionate team as an Electronics Technician 4. As we scale, you will play a critical role in building our hardware foundation from the ground up. This is a dynamic, hands‑on position for a highly skilled technician who thrives in a fluid startup environment. You’ll work closely with engineers and leadership, support development of cutting‑edge technologies, and help establish best practices that enable our mission and growth.

You will be expected to work independently, communicate proactively, and mentor junior technicians while owning complex technical tasks from prototype build to system‑level testing.

  • Work independently and collaboratively while maintaining clear, proactive communication with engineers, project leads, and teammates. Mentor junior technicians as needed.
  • Execute complex technical tasks including test setup, data collection, troubleshooting, and documentation, following established processes and participating in peer reviews.
  • Apply tenacity, patience, and strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in test execution, data integrity, adherence to best practices, and clarity in documentation.
  • Continuously grow technical competency through curiosity, initiative, and collaboration with engineering staff.
  • This position requires access to export‑controlled information. Employment is contingent upon the applicant being a U.S. person as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).
Experience
  • Associate degree in electronics, engineering technology, or a related field; equivalent military or industry experience considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant hands‑on electronics technician experience, ideally within a startup, R&D lab, or technology company.
  • Experience assembling, testing, and troubleshooting RF and mixed‑signal circuits in the 200 MHz to 20 GHz range.
  • Experience with low‑noise measurement techniques and sensitive analog circuitry.
  • Experience working with RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters).
  • Experience with PCB rework, including fine‑pitch soldering, component replacement, and hardware modification.
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer or similar tools for viewing schematics and PCB layouts is a plus.
Skills
  • Strong understanding of analog, mixed‑signal, and RF hardware operation.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and engineering documentation.
  • Proficiency in setting up and executing test procedures, including calibration and data capture.
  • Knowledge of RF measurement techniques, impedance matching concepts, and best practices for high‑frequency testing.
  • Skilled in diagnosing hardware failures and assisting engineers in root‑cause analysis.
  • Comfortable maintaining BOMs, test logs, and build documentation with high accuracy.
  • Ability to build high‑quality, low‑noise cabling for testing and for product builds.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support engineers in building, assembling, and validating electronic systems, subsystems, and prototypes.
  • Perform hands‑on testing, measurement, and characterization of RF, analog, and mixed‑signal circuits.
  • Document test setups, procedures, and results with clarity and precision.
  • Assist with schematic review, PCB layout review, and design verification activities.
  • Perform PCB rework, including soldering, component swaps, and hardware modifications.
  • Maintain lab equipment, ensure calibration schedules are met, and uphold safe lab practices.
  • Interface with PCB vendors and manufacturing partners to verify build quality and resolve issues.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and contribute to root‑cause analysis and corrective action development.
  • Prepare and execute test plans, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Mentor junior technicians and support cross‑functional collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Startup Mindset
  • You’re adaptable, resourceful, and energized by working in a fast‑moving environment.
  • You’re comfortable wearing multiple hats and contributing wherever needed.
  • You’re excited by the opportunity to help build processes, tools, and systems from the ground up.
