Job summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. is seeking engineers with security clearance to design, analyze, and test complex equipment and electronic systems.

The role involves preparing specifications, reviewing designs, and performing tests with specialized equipment, then documenting findings and improvements. Candidates should have a related associate degree or military electronics training, 6 years of relevant experience, and 4 years in hardware installation.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Associate degree in engineering technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from Technical School or Class A/B military school in electronics or communications.
  • Six (6) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related role.
  • Four (4) years of experience in installation of hardware and/or equipment.
  • One (1) year of experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare designs and specifications for complex equipment or systems (e.g., heating systems, solid-state electronic components).
  • Develop or review designs by analyzing engineering data to produce schematics, drawings, and parts lists.
  • Conduct tests or experiments with specialized equipment, record data, and analyze problems to prepare reports.
  • Apply methods to research and development projects, construct experimental/prototype models, and implement redesigns as needed.
  • Design and coordinate test set-ups and experiments to validate feasibility of designs.
  • Improve equipment performance using new measurement techniques.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems (e.g., a heating system in an office building, or new electronic components such as solid-state devices for instrumentation equipment).
  • Developor reviewdesigns by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data and applying conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists.
    • Examples of designs include detailed circuit diagrams; hardware fittings or test equipment involving a variety of mechanisms; conventional piping systems; and building site layouts.
  • Conducttests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures; preparing and operating equipment; recording data; and measuring and recording problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level and analyzes data and prepares test reports.
  • Applymethods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conducting tests or experiments; developing/implementing redesigns as necessary; and recording and evaluating data and reports findings.
  • Design and coordinate test set-ups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary design.
  • Use untried and untested measurement techniques; and improves the performance of the equipment.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Associate degree in engineering technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications.
    • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A High School diploma or GED credential and three (3) years of recent and relevant experience related to the labor category description may be substituted for an AS or AA degree. These three (3) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of six (6) years to meet the “Experience” requirements below, requiring a total of nine (9) years of experience.
  • Six (6) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related role.
  • Four (4) years of experience in installation of hardware and/or equipment.
  • One (1) year of experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings. Experience may be concurrent.
